No Picture Venting

So I will warn you now...this won't be an uplifting post, so feel free to stop reading there because I just need a few moments for VENTING. First....can I please throw away every dumb toy in my house!? I am just two seconds from doing exactly that. I will fully admit that my girls don't have many toys as it is, considering the lack of space in our house, but the ones we have seem to rule my world. Constant clean up, and I can't seem to inspire my daughter Dejah to clean it all by herself since 80% of the "dumping" is caused by her little 1 1/2 year old sister. I think I need to invest in some SERIOUS BINS and put all but 3 at a time away...this may solve some...but Mycah seems to pull out EVERYTHING...not just toys. Ok, on to Number Two. I have a neighbor who is moving. She has asked me to watch her daughter the past couple mornings, which is fine. I'm ok with that. She asked if I could feed her daughter lunch. I'm ok with that too. Ok, so she calls me the other day and askes if I could feed her family Tuesday for dinner....tonight. I told her "of course, I'd love to help". Of course I HATE cooking...especially when I'm Prego, but I accept anyway. Today comes around and I told her Alex wouldn't be here for dinner, but I could bring it to them. They said they would pick it up at 3:30 before they head to Boise to stay with mother-in-law. So of course, I start making a nice dinner to be ready by 3:30, and wouldn't you know it...NO SHOW! Who does that? Ok, on to Number Three. Alex has two weeks left in the semister, which means TONS of homework for his Masters. I know he is doing this all for us and would rather be here, but he has "classroom observations" for the next week and a half with homework on top of that, so I pretty much won't be seeing much of him until NEXT Friday. I know I can handle it, I'm tough, but sometimes Mommies need breaks from their messy tyrants. Maybe if I get rid of EVERYTHING in my house, I will never have to clean it again??? HUH? :> So anyway, there are a few other things that involve "assignments" that I won't mention that I'm feeling a bit bitter about, but I guess I can't complain much since my trials are WAY, WAY, WAY easier than others. I guess I'll take em'.

  1. i got a great shelf at ikea that you can put baskets in and books on. it looks nice, so it goes well with our furniture and it is really affordable like $79. i'll have to take a picture of it for you. it is great because you can just stuff everything into the baskets and it is all hidden away, the kids can dump all they want but it is an easy clean up. when i get a chance i'll show you what i am talking about.

  2. "But sometimes Mommies need breaks from their messy tyrants." This should be embroidered on a pillow. And put up on my wall. With a spotlight pointed straight at it. Forever.

I'm sorry you've had a rough day! I can't imagine doing ANY of that and being pregnant. Actually, I can't imagine being pregnant with even my two little kids. Perhaps it will pass eventually and we will someday welcome another munchkin to our home. Anyways, just wanted to say that you ROCK for still being alive and able to function. Hope things improve!

  3. Haha. I like Sheri's idea. It won't be too much longer until I have tyrants of my own. But give it a few years. I'm sorry that you had a rough day. It really stinks. All those toys, and the no show! Ugh. I hope everything turns out alright!

  4. I feel for you and you have a right to vent. I hope you feel a little better knowing that.
We have a ton of toys and books.
We also have ONE room they ALL have to stay in.(until I moved here all those rooms had a door, that was really nice)
That has been a rule in every one of my houses. It has helped me stay somewhat sane and kept me from hating toys so far.
I have found it is fun for the kids to have racing games and target practice when cleaning up toys. It is somewhat shameful but bribery works too. A gummy bear a skittle, an m&m a story? it doesn't have to be big to be effective. =)
You are doing a great job and this too shall pass.
    Remember you very loved.

  5. That's totally annoying that your neighbor called and asked for dinner at 3:30 of all times and then a no show. Totally annoying. Sorry. I thought my mom's idea for toys was great. Put half of them away for a few months and then switch the toys out. I'm totally going to do that when I have enough toys.
