The "NEW" Garbage Can

Logan, Logan, Logan.  You are two.  That's the only way to describe it.  Screaming for fun.  Screaming cuz you're mad.  The constant need for Mommy to talk to you.  What ever it is....one thing is for sure....IT IS WORK.  When we take a drive anywhere, all I hear behind me is, "Mom?  Mommm?  MOOOM!!!".  My reply every time, "What Logan".  Then you point out the nearest tractor, truck, boat, cow and tell me ALL about it.  Then you repeat the "MOM" with another topic,  "Grandpa?"  "Grandma?"  "Daddy?"  Today after your nap you wanted a snack.  So I give you a snack bag of mini chips ahoy cookies.  When you are done I say, "Go put it in the Garbage".  "Buh chijj?" (That is how he pronounces it)  I point to the kitchen.  You point to the bathroom.  I figure you just want to throw it away in a different garbage.  Then I hear it.....FLUSH!  Nooooo!  Not AGAIN!  For some reason (lets just say its because you are TWO) your current obsession is flushing anything and everything down the toilet!  Do I need to get a lock for that too?  Of course, unhappy Mommy results in a tantrum (which had to be done outside since baby sister was TRYING to sleep).  Oh the joys of motherhood ;)

Pre-School Field Trip

It was field trip day for Mycah's little pre-school.  We went to The Farmstead  and the kids had a great time.  It was so muddy because of the rain.  Our hay ride got stuck so everyone had to unload and reload.  It was so funny seeing the looks on the kids faces when thy could hardly pick their feet up due to the thick gluey mud.  I was so glad we all wore boots! :)

Here are a couple pictures at the end of the field trip.  Of course Mycah was being "special" and wouldn't even look at the camera.  Logan just had to get in the picture too.

Some Things May Never Change

It is almost 4:00 in the afternoon.  Which means in exactly 1 hour, my children are going to be chomping at the bit for something to eat.  The thought of it makes me want to curl up and hide until dinner time is OVER!  I keep thinking that someday I'll gain this strange desire to explore all that food has to offer.  Lets just put it this way...I HATE all things cooking! (Moderate Baking Excluded)  I hate the grocery stores especially with my very naughty children.  I hate the prep.  I hate the mess.  The terminology??  example....  confit?  a leek?  And when I'm done, I don't usually enjoy eating what I've just slaved over.  Either way, part of being the Mom is providing the food.  My kids are picky.  If I choose to make something "different", I have to be completely ready to battle it out with ALL FOUR of them.  Then I spend about 45 minutes scooping bites into crying faces.  After that I try to enjoy my now cold meal and the process of cleaning it up.  Onto the other part of this challenge.  Alex's diet needs to change.  But how do you do that when you are cooking for four children and yourself as well?  Either way, there is no avoiding it.  I spent my morning at the grocery store with my two babies (no meal plan of course....that's just another thing I can't seem to pull together ahead of time).  Most grocery carts only hold one child, leaving the 2 year old to walk with me.  Just let your imagination run wild and that about sums it up.  $130 later I am home with NO CLUE what to make for dinner. Is it possible to learn to love to cook? Well, until that strange day comes, I will just stare at websites like foodgawker.com.  Or I'll become filthy rich and hire myself a personal chef :)
