Painting Day Three

Today I "tackled" the last wall....the one with the window seat. I will say that it was a bit tougher than I anticipated. First off, I think they mixed my darker color a bit thicker because I had a really hard time getting it to roll on. It just wanted to stick to my roller and the pan it was in. Here is a shot of the walls together. The lighter wall (to the right) was WAY easier to roll on. It came out really even and saturated. My darker wall....well lets just say that Lowe's is going to hear it from me, because now I have to go get more paint and re-do the entire surface. I wish I could explain it to you better, but oh well. I think the colors are good.
Tomorrow I will do the closet and the touch ups on the window wall and anywhere else that needs done. Then I may wait another day to pull up the tape and re-whiten the base-boards and window seat.
I'm hoping on Friday I will be Done painting and I can start thinking about "decorating"! Yay! I need to get new curtains and window coverings (since I don't thing Navy Blue and Red will match anymore). Saturday I'm hoping the bunk bed will be finished....at least built. We will probably paint it white. Either way it will need stained or painted.

  1. Looks great! I love the colors! Though I suggest not waiting to take the tape off. Take it off while the paint is still wet if you can. Otherwise it may pull the paint off the wall...we ALWAYS have that problem when we wait til it's dry!

  2. I think that those colors look great together, good job picking them! They make painting look so easy on tv... but's a lot harder than it looks.

  3. I think some cute vinyl would do the trick! Come over and Dejah can pick out what she likes, butterflies, flowers, whatever. I'm impressed you did this by yourself. Leigh hates to paint, but he gets to(if you know what I mean)
