Mon, Tues, Wed (Thanksgiving Week)

Alex had the whole week off, and there was no school for Dejah. Lots of fun. Well my parents have taken on their basement. It has been unfinished since they bought it. Slowly they have done sections of it at a time. With the holidays coming up my mom thought it would be nice to have the downstairs kitchen finished. WHAT A JOB THEY TOOK ON!
So anyway, after all that and some...they painted. I got to see it last Sunday and it looked AWFUL! They agreed...it needed a different color. Since they both work and didn't really have the time, I offered to help. I love to paint (especially without kids disrupting me). Alex took them swimming on Monday, and I painted. Much better. More pictures to come.

So Alex took the older three out to Given's Hot Springs. Its about 30 minutes away and has a good kids pool. I guess they were the only ones there for three hours! The kids LOVED it!!

Tuesday:
It snowed!! Of course not what the weather people said it would, but it definitely felt like winter. Our old friends Toby and Kimberly were in town so we took the kids bowling and then to Burger King to play. That evening I went with one of my friends to do a little shopping for Thanksgiving. Alex watched all the kids and we ate pizza later.

Wednesday:
We put up our tree. Logan was not too happy about getting excluded. All he wanted to do was pull everything down. Fun times!

Thursday (Thanksgiving Day)

Usually every year we like to go to Alex's parents' house, this year with the two babies...it would have been too much work for me. We decided to stick around and go to my Grandparents' house. There was tons and tons of food and people. Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Grand kids, Great Grand kids, you name it! Since my Grandma's house isn't very big they convert the Garage into a sort of "dining area". Hey, it works :)

Cousin Jesse playing with the babies.

Alex, my brother David and his friend Gabe chillin' in front of the TV.

THE FOOD!!

Aunt Eileen (my Dad's sister) with one of her Grand babies.

Cousin Kellie with one of her nieces.

My beautiful Mom chatting with my cousin Jordan.

Dejah staring down a wall of pictures of all the great grandkids.

Grandma Ann.

My Dad and Grandpa Harris.

Me and My boyfriend and our first spawn.

It was fun and crazy.
Happy Thanksgiving!

BLACK FRIDAY!!

I have never done a black Friday event. My friends insist it is a ton of fun. I was in debate all week weather to go or not...my biggest reason? because it would be an all nighter. I guess old navy was doing their sale until closing at 8pm on Thanksgiving day...so I decided to join in for the evening. We had a pretty good time. All the stuff I would have bought didn't go on sale until 5 in the morning. I just couldn't stay up. I'm already suffering from enough sleep deprivation as it is. I guess they got most all their stuff by midnight, so there was no all nighter. Maybe next year huh.

Friday (Thanksgiving Week)

FRIDAY! One of the BEST things about thanksgiving is the food right? You get together with family and pig out all day. Then you come home and what happens??? NO FOOD. We've decided from now on we will have a day where we make all the food and have another day to pig out...plus we get left overs! When we finally rolled out of bed we got cooking. Alex turned on the Football games, peeled and cut potatoes while I went to work on the pies. Our turkey slow cooked in the oven all night. The food was DEEELISH! We pretty much sat around all day watching football games and eating. That night was the big BSU game. I was pretty sure they'd win and I was pretty tired. I fell asleep in the middle of the game. During my slumber Alex started to make a lot of noise. I opened my eyes and saw what was happening with the game...BSU was LOSING!??? WHAT?? Those last two quarters I was on edge. I couldn't believe it. I love a good game but it really stresses me out. After their loss I had a hard time sleeping. Funny huh?? Too much football that day I guess.

Saturday (Thanksgiving Week)

Saturday was kind of a low key day. Lexi was starting to feel sick. We had a really Lazy day. In other words BORING! Haha! Later in the afternoon I watched some of my friend's kids so that she could go Christmas shopping with her husband. So it didn't end up being too boring of a day for the kids. They had a blast. Alex decided to get Logan out and took him to the mall. So funny, because every time I take Alex to the mall he goes comatose the second he walks in the door. Apparently he decided to check out every single store there. Pretty sure I'll never get him there again after that :) !!! It makes me laugh pretty hard.

Sunday (Thanksgiving Weekend)

The kids, all but Logan, have colds. So again, I guess I won't be going to church. Not really fair for me to send my kids to nursery and primary just to infect all the other kids. Last week it was a sick Logan, and today Lexi is feeling AWFUL! Poor thing. She has a really bad croupy cough, runny nose and a small fever. She only wants 1/2 a bottle at a time and she isn't sleeping so well. Babies this young should never get sick because I feel like there is nothing I can do for them. Mycah is getting better, and it looks like Dejah might be just starting a cough today. Ugh.
Tomorrow Dejah goes back to school, and Alex is back to work. Its been a really fun week!

Sleeping In The Laundry Room

Well, Lexi is growing like a weed. Kinda wish they'd stop doing that. I only get to enjoy this stage in life for only a moment. (Although, I'm looking forward to the day when I can actually get some sleep)
Lexi is by far the BEST BABY EVER! She eats every 3 to 4 hours. She goes to bed at 9:30 or 10 and sleeps till almost 5:30. She loves to sleep. Now that she is getting a little older she is becoming a little more sensitive to the kids noise. So at night I roll her little bed into the laundry room. Its a small room, its dark, and it has a door. Something to muffle the squaks and squeals that are constantly ringing throughout the house. When she starts sleeping from 8 to 8 I'll come up with a way for her to sleep with her sisters. For now...the Laundry room it is.

Opened

Ok, so I've decided this blog will stay open. No more of that Drama from me. Too much of a pain.

"We Are Fam-il-y"

We finally got a quick 1 minute opportunity for a family photo. Of course, what would a family picture be without at least one of little ones being in a BAD mood!?? This is the first picture we've ever had all together since Lexi was born. Talk about a challenge. :)

So the weather is changing. Winter made a sneak peak this morning and gave this valley a skiff of snow. Dejah just couldn't resist. Of course my first answer to her was "No Dejah, its too cold". It must have been completely irresistible because she threw on her snow boots and sweats and went out anyway. Funny girl. I couldn't stop her and she spent over a half hour out there tromping around in the melted down slush.

This last week was fun. I got to go out with a few of my friends. We did a little Christmas shopping. I finally bought my girls the dumb pillow pets they've been BEGGING for. Ugh, seriously?? A stuffed animal that costs $20!! Anyway if that's what they want I guess I can't complain. They could be asking for ipods, wii's, and other more expensive things.

Friday evening I took Alex out on a MUCH needed date. It was nice to just spend some time together. I wish he liked Harry Potter, cuz I totally would have taken him. Now I'm trying to figure out when and who I will go see it with.

In other things this week, Logan has had the "poops". Not sure what else to call it, but he gets on these days that I swear the kid goes up to 10 times in a day, meaning...I have to bathe his rear or he gets really bad rash. I'm sure you all wanted to read that ;)

This week Alex has the whole week off for Thanksgiving. We aren't going anywhere. Its just way too much work on me to travel with all these kids. Wish me luck in the dinner department. I'm gonna need it.

The Goings On Around Here

Last week the weather was BEAUTIFUL! We were at my parents house and of course the one thing the kids wanted to do most was to play in the leaves. Anyway here are a couple pictures my Dad took on his phone.

Today, I have two SICK babies. Logan and Lexi are both running fevers. Not quite sure why. Lexi is eating and sleeping fine. Logan is NOT eating....and well...the next two pictures show the rest.
He was not too happy about the "substitute blankey" but his NEEDED washed. Lucky for me the infant tylenol drops and baby motrin have helped. Unfortunately, when Logan isn't burning up and sleeping he is super fussy and high maintenance.
This last Saturday we did "Rake Up Boise" again. I'm not pregnant this year so I was able to actually help. I must say it was pretty hard. I REALLY REALLY REALLY need to start exercising and eating better!! Either this birth control pill is making me gain weight and be more hungry, or my age is finally catching up with me. Either way...I notice a change and I'm not liking it one bit!
Anyway, when we got home from that we cleaned our garage. That evening we took the kids to the mall and they got to see Santa Clause and tell him what they want for Christmas. It was the perfect time to be there...NO LINES!!...and the mall has THE BEST SANTA! Dejah can easily pick out the fakes :)
Sunday was the first day for me to go back to church for all three hours. I haven't been in THREE MONTHS!! Crazy! We have church at 9. Classes are first, then we end with Sacrament meeting. I have two babies. Logan is not quite old enough to attend nursery, and Alex teaches during class time..leaving me to chase Logan around the halls for two hours while also caring for the infant. To top this off, I'm still getting up at nights, so.... waking up early to get my kids fed, dresses on, hair done, baby fed, me showered with cute hair and make-up all by 8:50am (oh ya, all while the husband is off at early morning meetings)....IMPOSSIBLE! Ok, so I did it this last Sunday. Be proud :)

Growing Babies!

Nearly 3 MONTHS OLD!!
I can't believe it!
This entire last year has been one HUGE blur. It was this time last year when she decided it was time to make her way in our direction. I was far from ready for her. I had a baby. Logan was only five months old. Mycah was two. Dejah was five. I cried a lot just thinking about the challenge I would have. I am not a super mom. I am not blessed with the gift of patience. I don't even think I'm the most nurturing women either. It is hard to find those things within myself, so throwing a newborn into the mix would be a challenge. Well here she is. How can you not LOVE those fat squishy cheeks and big smile???........

I have really grown to love this sweet little girl. She's kinda particular in her likes and dislikes. First off...she LOVES me! She will usually only take a bottle from me. She absolutely loves it when I talk to her. She becomes all grins and is just barely starting to make noise. I feel bad because she really doesn't get much mommy time. I guess that's what happens when you have a 1 1/2 yr old and a 3 yr old that are very demanding. Anyway, she is starting to hold her head up, which means she will get to sit in the bumbo seat soon. Anyway, I love my little Lexi.

Align CenterNext up is my Baby Boy! This one is growing like a weed. He is so full of little boy personality it cracks me up. He loves to jibber-jab. His is just starting to learn how to talk, but mostly he screams at the top of his lungs when he wants something. Currently his words are: Eat! Eat!, GO GO!, Mine!, Cracker, This, Here go.
Next are his noises which are:
Grrrr, and Brumm Brmmm.
Check out my little chunk :)

Losing It!

Well, I've been expecting it. It was only a matter of time. It.....meaning...my hair!! And it happens right around 3 months after having my babies. It has NOTHING to do with nursing. It has nothing to do with lack of nutrition either. Apparently when you are pregnant all that extra estrogen helps thicken your hair, giving you thick luscious fast growing locks. From about 3 through 6 months you lose all that hair that was supposed to come out but didn't due to pregnancy. Anyway, I was getting ready for church this morning when I saw those small short hairs poking out around my head. To top this off, I'm still regrowing the hair I lost from Logan. This is about the point when I want to whack all my hair off! It comes out in masses in the shower, and then even more when brushing through it. Ugh! I'm hoping I can hold out and not cut all my hair off. I am due for a hair cut though, so hopefully some layers will help.

So far my 3 month postpartum is going pretty good. I am on the mini-pill for birth control, which seems to be working pretty good so far. I haven't turned into crazy lady yet. I guess one of the side effects to this pill is to have inconsistent periods. Some women don't even have them while on this pill. So far...that is me. Not quite sure how I feel about that. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love not having a period or cramps, but it also makes me wonder if I'm pregnant. So far the one test I've taken says no. Lets keep our fingers crossed that it remains that way, or that crazy lady will come out in full force.

My weight has been up and down. I lost pretty good in the beginning, but slowly gained as time moved on. I'm not complaining, but I still don't feel comfortable in my skin. I tried for a week to workout then I burnt out. I am just so tired and my desire is gone! I really need to change my eating habits. I eat way to much sugar and bread.

That's about it for now :)

Girls Night!

Last night I got to go out with two of my best friends! We go way back and have so much history. Girls night with these two is a rare occasion. We are all married with kids, and life just doesn't provide that luxury often. It was a photo worth getting!

Here are a couple old pictures of Andrea and I. And I'm pretty sure we thought we were HOT with that big curly hair, lip stick, and...although you don't see the shoes...they are tall and CHUNKY! So funny! Andrea is so energetic and always cracks me up! I have some pretty funny pictures, but I will refrain from sharing.

Next is Korin! We go all the way back to middle school. She was my roommate in college and one of my Best Friends. We were always having some kind of crazy adventure, and we LOVED to share clothes. We had so many good times I can't even begin to record them all!

LOVE my girls!.....ALL of them!.....And if you go out with me there is sure to be a picture and blog post about it!

Halloween, A BIG Flop!

So last week I posted a question on my Facebook page: What night to take your kids trick-or-treating?? We've been watching the news and apparently there were a ton of people planning on doing it on Saturday evening (not Halloween) AND Sunday. So the response to that question on Facebook confirmed what was said on the news. People would be doing either one of the nights. We decided to just do it Saturday evening. It was NOT a religious thing, it was...lets get it over with...thing. Our ward (church group) decided to opt out of the "TRUNK-OR-TREAT" this year and do the youth auction, soup pot-luck, and Halloween party all in one night on Friday. We figured...church party on Friday, Trick-or-treating on Saturday, hand out candy Sunday. Here is how it turned out:

Friday evening, I burnt my soup upon reheating. We were fifteen minutes late to the Friday "THINGY" (that's pretty much what it was in my opinion). Because we were late there was NO place to sit in the cultural hall. We ended up in the fourier to eat. The "Halloween" portion for the kids was crazy and they had to stand in lines outside the classrooms to do a cake walk or a spook alley. Oh well. I was kind of in a bad mood because I spent my morning making a fabulous soup...and I burnt it! There was no form of trick-or-treating. Oh well, we'll make it up Saturday.
Saturday Alex carved pumpkins with the kids. We went on a little family outing to this trail that overlooks the snake river. It is about 20 minutes south of here. Anyway that was a pretty good time. Here are the pictures.....

Ok, so after our little outing we picked up a Jack-o-Lantern pizza from PaPa Murphy's. We ate then got all dressed up. We headed out for some grand ol' trick-or-treating. Now, whoever decided that doing this the night before Halloween must have been doing some serious SMARTIE SNIFFIN'!!! Knock Knock, "trick-or-treat", person answers the door, gives us a weird look and says "uh, let me go get the candy", drops a few pieces in the bags and we repeat this every four or five doors. It took us about 45 minutes to hit FOUR houses!! Not so good when you have 3 young eager little kids looking for candy. We decided to bag it and make a quick visit to Alex's brothers house for some candy. Thanks Gabe and Christy!
By Sunday I was pretty Halloweened out. But since our kids only had a few pieces of candy in their bags, I took my two big girls and left Alex with the babies. What a difference! Who would have thought that trick-or-treating only works on Halloween??? We filled the bags and made up for the pathetic flop the day before.

Here is a video of my kids dancing around in the fourier on Friday while we waited.
