Something to CRY About!

Mondays! Otherwise known to some as Family Day...or, Family Home Evening. My day was very typical. Not a lot going on, Just the usual errand to the bank and hanging out at home with moody girls (me included, thanks to the baby in the oven). My sister-in-law Christy called that afternoon to tell me about this great deal going on at Albertsons. To make a long story short...you go to Albertsons and buy 10 Marie Calendars Frozen dinners, then you get a coupon for $10.99 off your next purchase, then you buy 5 boxes of Post cereal and get all those for only $0.55! You receive a $5 off a gift card and use that toward your last purchase which is 2 Sara Lee Pies and 2 -1/2 gallons of Breyers Ice Cream for only $1.50! You basically get 10 Frozen dinners, 5 boxes of cereal, 2 Sara Lee Pies, and 2 things of Ice Cream all for $22!! I thought, "what a fun outing for F.H.E.!" So when Alex got home we drove out to Albertsons to partake of this great deal before it expires TODAY. After that, Alex decided that it would be fun to take the girls out to Mexican here in Kuna, so off we went! They did so good for the..um...first 1/2 HOUR! They were taking forever! And kids lose patience quickly. When our food finally came, I began to cut up a small Chimmi for Dejah and the next thing I notice, Mycah is WHALING into tears! I looked and saw something small and green with LOTS of little seeds sitting on her tongue and just about panicked. I stuck my finger in her mouth and swept out a round little Jalapeno half chewed up and stuck it back on the plate where it should have never existed in the first place! With all the commotion, Alex quickly grabbed her and took her outside so that we wouldn't be making a huge scene. Too late for that...you could hear her crying outside! So I told Dejah to stay put and took a cup of water out to Mycah. Of course that didn't help, but when Alex brought her in to try to get food in her mouth, she just kept crying. I was almost in tears and the Hostess got me some "to-go" boxes and my check. When I finally got in the car I was so upset I burst in to hysterics and couldn't stop crying. I got home and my stomach couldn't contain it anymore...I was SO upset! I'm still feeling the effects of it on my eyes. Anyway, I finally calmed down after EVERYONE was in bed and I could watch a couple episodes of Grey's Anatomy. This makes me really consider not EVER taking the girls out to eat AGAIN...such work!

  2. That sounded stressful. Sorry about that. Poor Mycah. Although I must agree with Christy, I think Grey's is a great consolation prize.

  3. Poor thing! That sounds like a fun night out eh? I feel ya though, me and JD rarely put ourselves through the hassle of dinner out with the kids. However just last night we did take them out to Mexican too! No scary jalapeno stories here though...

I also wanted to say hi to Alex. It's crazy how just a few years and everyone has families and has changed so much. I love this new way to keep in touch though. I am excited for you guys and your growing family! And just for the record... of couse JD doesn't think you were a nerd! I laughed when you said that though cuz looking back I think we were all pretty nerdy!! LOL
