Three Days Old

1st day Home

So far everything is going alright. Our little guy keeps us on our toes. His first night was beautiful. He woke up to eat and be changed and went right back to sleep. The second night, that one got us. He would wake up, eat, be changed. Then an hour later he would wake up soaked through and poopy. Then he'd do it all over again. One things for sure....he poops, and I have yet to figure out how to keep the pee in the diaper. Hopefully tonight will be better. Our girls are home with us now too, so this should be interesting.

  2. What a sweetheart Anna! Try Pampers Swaddlers... they're the only ones that trapped the good inside for us.

  3. point his "private" downward when doing up his diaper. If you point it upward his pee will get everywhere but the diaper. Just a little tip I learned in the Nursery at work...

  4. He is precious! Just the other day Keyne peed through his diaper on me and when I changed him, it was completely dry... I just don't get it. I guess that is one of the joys of having a boy :)

  6. I will add that boys are VERY so different than girls!! A few tricks we've learned, is like someone said, point the "private" down with each diaper change, and where girls you can get away more with the cheaper diapers, it is NOT SO with boys!!! The kirkland from Costco work great, but since they have neglected to make a newborn size, until they are in size 1-2 (it's not 1, but a 1,2 size, which again makes it difficult) but the Pampers Swaddlers are the next best thing and then wrap those suckers tight around the waist. I've needed WAY more clothes and diapers for my boys than with Kadence, so layering on the sheets in the crib or bassinet is a nice trick too, that way if they wet through in the middle of the night, you are just removing one sheet and not having to remake the entire bed. hand towels in between the sheet layers work wonders too. More laundry for boys, definitely. Good luck though! He's adorable! and congrats!

  7. Well the second I read about your problem, I thought EXACTLY what all the other people said. I learned very quickly too, you've got to point that thing DOWN every time you put on a new diaper. I can't wait till next weekend when we can come and see you guys.

  10. Haha, yes boys are very different! Wait until he pees on ya! And I always forgot how much newborns needed changing until you have one again. I swear by morning I had already changed 10 diapers through the night! He is so cute, looks like a little angel in those sleeping pics.

  11. I have 3 boys and they would always pee up the back every other hour seemed like. So we invested in the Pampers Swaddlers. Those are the only ones that seem to do the trick for us. Might try it. He sure is cute. My babies love their tummies too. Hope he continues to do well during the nights. Congrats!! He is beautiful.
